Introduction
Our research group focuses on the following research areas, including (but not limited to):
• Biomedical Imaging and Medical Image Processing: Explore state-of-the-art imaging techniques and medical image analysis algorithms to enhance disease detection, monitoring, and treatment planning.
• Bioinformatics and Computational Biology: Through advanced data analytics, decipher complex biological datasets, unraveling the mysteries of genomics, proteomics, and systems biology.
• Medical Device Development: Design and prototyping of medical devices that aid clinicians in diagnosis, therapy, and rehabilitation, with a focus on precision and affordability. Introduction
• Biomechanics and Biomaterials: Investigating the mechanical properties of tissues and developing innovative biomaterials for applications in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.
• Biosensors and micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS): Explore state-of-the-art methods in various sensing platforms such as surface plasmon resonance, piezoelectric, electrochemical, lab-on-a-chip, together with MEMS technology in transducing physical parameter changes to electrical signals that can be further processed, aiming to facilitate disease detection, monitoring, and treatment planning
Objective 1
To work closely with academia, healthcare institutions, industry partners, and government agencies to translate our findings to address the research gaps and contribute to extant knowledge, ultimately, transforming research outputs into real-world applications.
